Each year, 25 children from P7 take part in a significant challenge, walking from Fort William to Inverarnan over the course of three days to raise money for charity whilst making memories and having fun with friends. That challenge was due to take place last weekend but unfortunately has had to be cancelled. However that did not deter Luke, one of the children chosen for this year’s challenge, and he has planned to complete his challenge at home!
Luke started on Friday and followed the planned pattern of walking – 16 miles on the first day, 21 miles on the second day and 19 miles on the third day. He used a treadmill along with laps of his garden and his hourly permitted exercise each day to complete the miles.
Luke’s parents report that he did:
318 laps of the garden
3 x 10KM runs, during his daily permitted outdoor exercise
125,703 steps
Thankfully the weather was glorious so the treadmill saw little use. Luke was delighted to have raised over £2000 for Future Hope.
