On Friday 15 May we hosted a bakealong with Phil and Christine Jensen from Peboryon Cakes. Christine is an MES alumna who has made a great success of her business and whose work often features on Channel 4’s Extreme Cakes. Phil and Christine walked our home bakers through making a Lemon Velvet cake with Elderflower curd and buttercream icing. Several of our bakers wanted to share their efforts! With thanks to Ilona, Kirstie and Harrison, Marie and Niamh, Ramona, Shobha and Rani, Tricia and Caitlin and Verity for sending in photos of their efforts. We’ve heard the cakes were delicious and appreciative family and neighbours enjoyed sampling everyone’s efforts.

You will need to prepare the creme pat and curd ahead of time to allow them time to cool.
