From a great selection of garden renditions, Hannah Beaton has selected the below winners for our last photography competition of the summer:

Winner: Tara Paterson, ESMS Parent, with this stunning image of a field of summer wildflowers. Hannah said about this cheerful shot: ‘Well composed with the two colours of flowers running on the diagonal. Almost like a painting.’

Runner Up: Fiona Evans, ESMS Parent, with a nostalgic shot of a sundial in an exuberant garden. Hannah said: ‘Good composition and interesting colours. Sun dial draws you in to the photograph.’

Two further entries of note were Sandy McCreath’s image of an empty Princes Street Gardens during lockdown. Sandy left MES in 1970.

And the final entry of note was Lorna Lumsden’s wildflower garden section in her croft in the hills above Loch Ness. Lorna left MES in 1966.
