Creativity and skill have been at play again for the second edition of our Summer Art Competition, with some great submission; we are pleased to announce the winners of this edition:

Under 8-joint winners

Rani, who has just started at ESMS, with a super interpretation of Edinburgh landmark, Portobello Beach.  Miss Littlejohn said: “I love how you have changed the direction of your brushstrokes to show the change from sea to sky.  The subtle changes of brushstroke direction to show the change from sand to sky are particularly noteworthy.”

And Shoba, who has started P2, with a different take on the same landmark. Miss Littlejohn’s comment was: “Well done Shobha. You have created a wonderfully textured seascape; I can almost feel the sand between my toes!”

9-13 Our winner in this category is Eva, who has just started in S1, who sent in a magnificent sunset. Miss Littlejohn said: “Superb work Eva! I love your choice to use complimentary colours, the green grass makes the orange sunset look even more vibrant. All the details you had added to the bark of the tree and mushrooms are excellent.”

In the adult category, our winner is ESMS parent Ramona, with a touching painting of children enjoying a day at the beach. Miss Littlejohn said: “What a wonderful beach scene Ramona! The figures are beautifully painted, the way you have created the material of their clothing is excellent. Well done.”

This concludes our Summer Art competitions.  Watch this space for more art, fun and community competitions once we have all settled back into school life.
